"I first met Ray over ten years ago,when I became the proud owner of my first Flat-Coated Retriever. I was also a total novice in training dogs for hunt tests, even holding a dead duck was asking a lot of me. But Ray is the most patient trainer I have ever known. Not only can he evaluate what individual dogs need,but he is also a master teacher for those of us who wish to learn how to work with our own dogs. He understands your limitations and your dogs,and can bring out the best in both. Ray has all the qualities I want to see in a trainer. He has an exceptional knowledge of dog behavior and has a calm but firm way of working. He reads the dog well and has the background to approach each dog individually. My dogs are European trained ( not collar conditioned, different hand and
whistle signals, and a different language.) Ray has the flexibility and experience to succeed with my dogs. I normally train my own dogs. I travel frequently however, and when I do, I send my dogs to continue their training with Ray. Being a judge at the Master Hunter level, Ray has helped me understand the American hunt test system, and how best to train my youngest lab to her HRCH at 2. My 9 year old lab, a retired French Field Trial Champion, loves going for continued training at "Camp Ray".
